Futureal Studio is a film production company founded by Sébastien Dumesnil in 2007. Originally located in Los Angeles, California, the company is now located in Phoenix, Arizona.
Our projects include:
Adventures Into Digital Comics: Follow the rise and fall—and potential revival—of comic books through Sébastien Dumesnil's documentary that combines social science, economics and vivid images to trace the shift of an all-paper storytelling format to an electronic art form. Dozens of comic industry luminaries discuss the great crash of the mid-1990s—just as the Internet revolution was taking off—and explain why digital comics could be the future of the medium.
Every Thought: Every Thought is a music video
co-produced by Robert Nichols and Sébastien Dumesnil with Fre$h Records and directed by Nichols.
The song, written by Chazz Faulkner and Fresco, is performed
by Phil Bell and Fresco.
The video follows the story of Phil's breakup with his
girlfriend, and how he tries to express his feelings via a song
with the help of his friend, Fresco.
Vault of Comics: Vault of Comics is the short companion piece to Adventures Into Digital Comics. Put together with cut scenes from the feature-length documentary film, Vault follows the various steps one has to follow to create a comic book.
Bystander: In Bystander, written by Sébastien Dumesnil and directed by Robert Nichols, the story follows a nervous father who is the witness of a murder in the Southern Californian mountains. As the story unfolds, one has to wonder if the father could not be the person who ordered the execution we've witnessed. In this short, Dumesnil observes the nervous attitude of a man who has become so unable to communicate with his environments that he was able to bring his family to a hiking trip, just to be able to witness a murder.
