The Red Star

[ The Red Star ]

The Red Star is a comic book series creared by comic book artist Chris Gossett. The entire story takes place in a mythic Russia, where Military Industrial Sorcery has made the armies of the world capable of incredible destruction. The first two volumes of the series was written by Chris Gossett and Bradley Kayl, illustrated by Gossett, colored by Snakebite and lettered by Richard Starkings and Comicraft. Originally published by Image, the series is now published by Gossett's own Archangel Studio. The follow-up series, The Red Star: Sword of Lies, is written and illustrated by Gossett, colored by WETA Studio (known for its work on The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Chronicles of Narnia movies) and lettered by Richard Starkings and Comicraft.

The Red Star Vol.1: The Battle of Kar Dathra's Gate - Over the course of several generations, the vast empire once known as the United Republics of The Red Star slaughtered millions of its own people by the order of a single man. The man was their leader, Imbohl, a mighty sorceror whose insanity turned his people's Utopian dreams into a nightmarish scheme of his own immortality. Haunted by the ghosts of their nation's tragic past, the heroes of The Red Star discover the true nature of their nation's struggle, abandon their duties as soldiers of the Red Fleet, and embark upon a quest to liberate their people from Imbohl's dark legacy. This fascinating new world is created by Chris Gossett, (Tales of the Jedi, Superman Annual #12, Apocalypse with Bruce Willis for the Sony Playstation) the artist that first designed the Double-Edged Lightsabre from Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace! With an innovative new system of color utilizing the same 3D modeling technology as today's best selling video games and animated features, and a bold new series of fonts created by Richard Starkings' Comicraft, The Red Star is an epic mythology that heralds the dawn of a new era in comics. The first trade paperback contains issues 1,2,3,4 of the series The Red Star.

The Red Star Vol. 2: Nokgorka - Over the course of several generations, the vast empire once known as the United Republics of The Red Star slaughtered millions of its own people by the order of a single man. This second trade paperback, Nogkgorka, introduces readers to the war orphan child, Makita. Sorceress Maya Antares searches the war torn streets of Nokgorka to bury the body of her best friend, Alexandra, and discovers a secret that will change the course of her life. This beautiful oversized book contains issues 6, 7, 7.5, 8 and 9 of the series The Red Star.

The Red Star Vol. 3: Prison of Souls - This is the continuing saga of The Red Star. Over the course of several generations, the once mighty empire known as the Republics of The Red Star (U.R.R.S) slaughtered millions of its own people by the order of a single man, and powerful sorcerer, Imbohl. His insanity turned his people's utopian dreams into a evil scheme driven by his desire to forge his own immortality. Haunted by the ghosts of their nation's past, the heroes of the Red Star embark upon a journey into the mysterious spiritrealm to liberate their ancestors' soul and bring an end to Imbohl's namarish empire. This story chronicles the heroic battle of the skyfurnaces in the race for Archangel, the soul prison in the Spirit realm. Maya, Makita, Kyuzo and Urik test their strength and skill against their former comrades on the decks of the huge ships, in the depths of the fiery Konstantinov hull and in the vast skies above. The Red Star is an epic mythology of the Soviet Union that combines science fiction and sorcery with brotherhood and valor. This unapologetic, romantic saga utilizes the same computer 3D modeling technology as today's best selling video games and animated features, while heralding the dawn of a new era in comic books and visual storytelling.
