Tracy White is a storyteller. She has
lived most of her life in New York City and doesn't
drive. She holds a bachelor's degree in history from
Columbia University and a Master's degree from the
Interactive Telecommunications Program in the Tisch
School of the Arts at New York University.
Since graduating from ITP she has developed
interactive stories and games for television and the
internet. Her autobiographical comic Traced has been distributed online, on-air and in print for
a few years. She was one of the first (if not the first) online auobiographical cartoonist.
White lectures and writes
about the future of digital comics. You can
find out more than you may want to know about her
from her comics. She has a very particular vision of how to use the various available tools in webcomics (hyperlinks, animation, etc) to give meaning to her work. She does not use these tools just for the effect, but because there is a reason within a story to use them and show a transformation in the characters.
White was also one of the first webcomics artists to give the possibility for her readers to discuss her stories online and share their experiences in respect to the story she told.
Tracy White appears in Adventures Into Digital Comics.
