Simon Furman is a writer for comic books and TV animation. He is particularly associated with the Transformers, the 80s toy phenomenon, that he wrote for Marvel, Dreamwave and IDW. Moreover, he wrote the final episode of the Beast Wars cartoon and the Transformers Ultimate Fan Guide.

Furman's first published work was in 1984 for Fleetway's Scream. His other comic book credits include Dragon's Claws, Death's Head, Alpha Flight, Turok, She-Hulk, Robocop and What If?  In the TV animation field, Furman has written for shows such as Beast Wars, Roswell Conspiracies, Dan Dare, X-Men: Evolution and Legend of the Dragon.

Editorially, Furman oversees Titan Books' range of Transformers and Wallace & Gromit graphic novels and their Comics Creators series (which includes Comics Creators on Spider-Man and Writers on Comics Scriptwriting 2).

Furman frequently collaborates with comic book artist Andrew Wildman for their joined company, WIldfur Productions. Their most recent collaboration was for a Flash webcomic series called The Engine, also produced by New Media expert Adam Jennings. Sancho Plan's director Ed Cookson was also instrumental in the development of the property. The Engine is featured in Adventures Into Digital Comics.

Furman's recent writing work includes Doll, a manga title for Tokyopop; Transformers: The Ultimate Guide, a lavish twentieth anniversary hardcover for Dorling Kindersley; and a Dr. Who audio adventure (The Axis of Insanity) for Big Finish. He also worked on a number of Judge Dredd stories, from 2000 AD to DC Comics' Judge Dredd: Lawman of the Future. He also wrote Annihilation: Ronan for the Marvel Comics Annihilation event.

His new series, Terminator 2: Infinity, started in June 2007.
