Joe Zabel is a webcomic writer and artist living in Cleveland Heights.
Zabel is best known for his work on Harvey
Pekar's autobiographical comic American Splendor with Gary Dumm. His other printed works include Real Stuff and Duplex Planet Illustrated for Fantagraphics.
Zabel also self-published Bulletproof, Oracle and The Trespassers, a
series of mystery comics starring amateur sleuths
Raymond Fish and Delphinia 'Finn' Morgan.
For the past years, Zabel plunged into the world of 3D art and
online comics, producing the graphic novel Rapid
Eye Movement in 2001, and (for Modern Tales) The Return of the Green Skull in 2002-2003.
Zabel has also served as a comics reviewer since 1994 for Subliminal Tatoos, Indy Magazine and iComics.com. He also serves as the Editor-in-Chief for the Webcomics Examiner.
The Fear Mongers , a horror webcomic series in 3D and The Ice Queen, a new Trespassers mystery, are his
more recent works, still for Modern Tales.
His work on The Return of the Green Skull and Voyage of the Laneous are featured in Adventures Into Digital Comics. |
