Joey Manley's first novel, The Death of Donna-May Dean, was
published by St. Martin's Press in 1992. Manley is the
original Director of FreeSpeech.org,
which won a Webby Award, a RealNetworks Streamers
Award, and a Softbank Forums' Global Information
Infrastructure Award during his tenure.
Manley worked for a time at MediaBay, then
moved on to streamingmedia.com,
where he was eventually promoted to Vice President,
Interactive.
Manley launched ModernTales.com in
March, 2002, serializer.net in
October, 2002, Girlamatic.com in
April, 2003, WebcomicsNation.com in January, 2004, and numerous other websites along
the way, most of which focus on webcomics or on other forms of web-native
entertainment.
