Daniel Merlin Goodbrey is a new media artist and lecturer. Born on Halloween to a family of antique dealers in Suffolk, it took Goodbrey just 23 years to leave home and earn his masters degree in the Digital Practices of Hyperfiction.

When not being possessed by fictional entities for the purpose of creating comics, Goodbrey lectures in new media design and webcomic creation at the University of Hertfordshire.

E-merl.com is where Goodbrey catalogues his experiments in fiction and the comics form. His early fascination for webcomics storytelling led him to experiment with the concept of Hypercomics, comics where the reader has to click on specific objects to get to a particular part of the story. His experimentation includes some webcomics that are showcased in Adventures Into Digital Comics, like Brainslide, 24: Three and Icarus Creeps.

Goodbrey's most recent work includes a webcomic series called Brain Fist, now available in its entirety on his site, The Last Sane Cowboy & Other Stories, a comic book distributed by AiT/Planetlar, The Rule of Death, a webcomic series distributed by serializer and All Knowledge Is Strange, another webcomic series distributed by Modern Tales. Goodbrey also has an upcoming project to be published by Marvel.
