Andrew Wildman is a
designer/illustrator with more than 25 years of
experience. His work has featured in numerous
advertisements and publications, but it is in the
field of comic book art that he is best known.
Early work included strips in a host of Marvel UK titles, including The Real
Ghostbusters, Thundercats, Galaxy Rangers and
Transformers (UK) on which he would frequently work with inker Stephen Baskerville.
Shortly thereafter, Wildman
(with writer Simon Furman and Baskerville) graduated to the US Transformers comic (as of issue
#69), handling the art chores throughout the rest of
the book's run. After the cancellation of the title, Wildman worked on a number of
Marvel's other titles, including G.I. Joe, X-Men Adventures,
The Hulk, Spider-Man, Venom, Fantastic Four
Unplugged and Spider-Man 2099, as well as a brief
stint on Nightman for Malibu Comics.
His other
work includes character design and animated movie
production for the video games industry, providing
storyboards for Wing Commander and design/concept
work on The Mummy, Gunlok, Gunfighter, Delta Force,
Largo Winch, and Dredd vs Death.
With Furman, Ed Cookson and Adam Jennings, Wildman co-created a Flash webcomic series called The Engine, which is showcased in Adventures Into Digital Comics. It was the first project of Furman and WIldman's joined adventure, Wildfur Productions.
More
recently, Wildman returned to the comics world with
Transformers: War Within—The Dark Ages, with
long-time collaborator Simon Furman. It was followed by the crossover series GI Joe/Transformers published by Devil's Due Publishing in 2007.
Wildman has recently designed characters for the animated TV show Legend of the Dragon and animated movie Ali Baba and The Forty Thieves, produced all the art for the Power Rangers strip in the UK Jetix magazine, illustrated Dark Horizons for Devil's Due and is now working on various Transformers projects while running his charity project, Draw the World Together.
